Hey folks,

A few more dumb questions that maybe you know the answers to.

I now have 2 sticky pedals. The rear brake pedal, sometimes, when pressed and released doesn't come back up, unless I push it down hard again and release it quickly. Seems to be sticking more when using it gently.

Also my gear pedal, when kicking down to 1st doesn't seem to always come back up i.e stays LIMP for a few secs.

Cheers

I am looking at somepoint to have a HID conversion kit on the bike.

http://www.hids4u.co.uk/hid-motorbike-conversion-kits-c-7.html seem's to be the decent and informative UK website.

As my SV is twin light, and do a bit of night riding, I do need to improve on the 55w lights.

Has anyone got a HID kit fitted on their bike yet?

On the ride out with Tim, my Right bulb blew.

Went to Halfords to get a replacement, brought a bulb based on the info given on the old bulb.

£4.99 for one bulb. Went to fit it, and it wouldn't fit, as the 2 prongs on the bayonet fitting were at 90 degree angles 12 o clock and 3 o clock position.

Couldn't see because of the packaging. So anyway found the actual same ones as the prongs are 12 o clock and 4 o clock . ...

I'm now averaging slightly over 130 miles to a tankfull of fuel as opposed to 120,ridden hard as god intended. The air intake roar is addictive!! All went well, fitted correctly and well lubed.

I now have a very loud whine from the front sprocket. Nothing is rubbing the chain, its not too ...

Got back home and charge up the battery and everything seemed OK. Went to work and back, about 20 miles in total, but when I pulled up outside the house the bike stalled. Did not take any notice of that I was in the hurray to get in the house.

8 years, 3 bikes and about 40,000 miles, I have got a nail in my back tyre.

Noticed it today at Dinner as the sun was glinting off the head. A quick examination and the head of the nail was less than a mm inside the tyre. Tyres have been on the bike for nearly 6000 miles and there is 3-4mm of tread left on 3/4 of the rear tyre.

Not bad considering they are Maxxis. Rode the bike home and checked the tyre when I got back. The rubber is now stretching ...

I had the chain and sprockets done today by my local garage, they had fun getting the chain on, as it seemed too short (530-110), but went on ok. The mechanic said it was a little tighter than it should be but it should be ok... The rear wheel is in as far as it can possibly go.

Well after 60-odd miles, the bike has now developed a whine which alters pitch dependant on the road speed of the bike, it make no difference at all whichever gear I'm in, whether the clutch is out, or ...

Any advice from the worldy wise and experienced on Chain & Sprockets.

I should imagine like most things in life you get what you pay for.

But is there anything to be given a wide birth, or anything that stands head and shoulders above the rest.

I have a K5 1200, still on original chain but the gold finish in flaking off big style and i think i have a tight spot in it from poor maintenance in its early life.

Thanks in anticipation.
