15K Service

Post  OneeyedBandit on Thu Aug 27, 2009 8:46 pm

Took my SV to Redcar in Leicester again yesterday for it's 15k service. Although I had 16705 on the clock.

I explained to them that I have had to top up my clutch res twice since the 11K service. They stated that my slave cylinder might be dirty and need replacing.

I received the stonking GS500E courtesy bike, and spent most of yesterday carrying Stacey around on it, as we had to collect Simons Ashes and Stacey had to attend a hospital appointment.

So later on during the day, I got a text from Redcar stating that they would be keeping the bike overnight as they had to order in a Clutch Slave Cylinder.

After that I took Stacey to the Bike night at Donington Park yes on the GS500E.

So today, I received another text to say that my bike was ready and the final bill was £408.37p

So on the way there along the A606, I was overtaken by two GSX-R's and they stopped at the lights.

I filtered through the traffic and pulled level with them.... Now I was on a GS500E. Guess who won the traffic light race !!!

Yep. I left them, and it took them nearly half a mile to catch up with me where they had to over take me on double whites !!!

So those with SV's here is the cost of the 15K service

Service Motorcycle, Change Engine Oil & Filter
Remove Rocker Cover, check and adjust tappets
Replace Plugs
Balance Throttle bodies
SDS Check
Replace Clutch Slave Cylinder

5.5 hours labour £240.35
Oil £21.28
Oil Filter £10.97
2 Plugs £23.00
4 Shims £21.02
Clutch Slave Cylinder £87.72
Waste Disposal fee £4.03
