Angel or Demon ?
I went out on an IAM observed ride today, and the route that was taken was somewhat rural.
The ride covered 70 miles in total.
The road surfaces of the roads on the South East Notts/Leics border are not exactly ideal.
Having done over 8k on the maxxis tyres, their life was quickly coming to an end as the wear indicators were very prominent down the centre line. And after the ride out today, my rear tyre was becoming borderline ilegal.
I went to see a friend of mine who owns MTS(Nottingham), as last month, I asked if he could setup an account with Maxxis tyres, as I was looking for another set to be fitted. Yesterday I contacted him, and sadly Maxxis are very strict on their documentation process.
I had to get a new set of tyres fitted asap, and with the amount of mileage that I am now doing per week, it was suggested that I should have some Pirelli Angel ST's fitted, after 600 miles the tyre tread changes from that of an angel to that of a demon.

Ride in, fitted, 2x cups of tea and ride out for £237.00
The reviews of these tyres have been very good with a full on test of 7500 miles, however other tests have seen the rear last inexcess of 9000 miles.
Pirelli advise that the rear holds a max of 42 PSI whilst the front holds a max of 36 PSI. However the SV handbook states that tyres should be at a max of 36 PSI.
I also had some 90 degree valves put in so when the side stand is down, I can access the values from the ride hand side of the bike.
