B@stards !!!!

Post  OneeyedBandit on Mon Sep 21, 2009 8:00 pm

Some fcuker has reversed into my bike.

Nice scrape on the right hand side of the nose cone and a couple of scratches on the fairing.

Not sure if the nose cone can be sanded and resprayed, but the lower fairing can.

Looks like Xmas is going to be expensive this year.

I checked my right hand bar and it doesn't look bent....

Mother fu*kers! Some people are scum, ruining other peoples property and running away.

Were you parked up anywhere like a car park with security cameras, if so you can go and ask to see their footage?

I feel for you.

The building I am in is privately owned.

There is 5 companies that occupy it.

The cycle bay has been closed, so I had to use a marked carparking space.

I've asked to see footage, but the security firm have stated that where my bike was situated is a blind spot!!!

It is obvious that someone assumed it was an empty space, and possibly reversed into it, and saw my bike at the last minute.

I'm not claiming on the insurance as my excess is £250.

4 of us bikers were told to move the bikes from our designated area where there are 2 cameras, because of workmen working on the boilers nearby.

So to avoid being clamped (Building is occupied by 4 companies - private landlord). We had 1 car park space but aside for us where all 4 bikes were placed.

Due to the height of the damage, it could have been a 4x4 type vehicle.

Lucky enough I park my bike so I ride out. So when they hit it. The force was being applied to the stand. If it was parked the otherway.

I would have found it on the deck.

I've managed to secure a new nose cone off Ebay for £125.00 which judging from the picture looks the same colour as mine.

And it has the SV1000S stickers on it.

The description states it is new and unused.

Seller is Project Bikes Limited of Nottinghamshire.

I've asked Tim if he could give me a lift to pick it up on Saturday morning.

Fingers crossed everything should be ok.

I did take pictures of the damage done to my nose cone, but my external hard drive crashed, literally to the floor, when one of the dogs knocked it off the table by catching the wire.

So I have lost 500GB worth of photos which is 3 years worth of Airshows, Bike shows and other items. Lucky enough all the ones of Simon were backed up on to DVD.

hardrives are tough mate so rip it out of the external case and connect it directly to the Motherboard and see if that works

Re: B@stards !!!!

Thanks to Tim for taking me to Project Bikes in Eastwood, Notts.

Tim and I arrived to find a workshop situated in a small industrial unit with a few bikes scattered around the place and a guy sitting down answering a mobile phone.

My nose cone was placed ontop of a cardboard box, and although it hasn't been used, it has several scratches on it. Including one long scratch on the top surface.

I pointed these out, and the guy said I could take it or leave it.... Umming and arrhing.. I have decided to take it, basically because it can be resprayed. And for £125, I'm not going to find another nose cone that has been smashed or cracked.

So I have been on ebay and have purchased Quixx, and it costs £4.99, and is claimed to remove scratches.

So I will let you know the outcome...

If it's crap, then I will get it resprayed over winter.
