Chiddy.

You need a Power Commander III that has the fittings and the software for your SV in terms of year and model (1000cc).

Don't do the classic thing in getting any old Power Commander off Ebay and hoping it fits.

Then get it on a Dyno to get set up.

However before doing that, take it to a PROPER Suzuki dealer and get them to connect a laptop to it and put it in dealer mode and do some ECU updates and also get your Throttle Positioning Sensor Adjusted.

I need a replacement one which varies between £60 & £90.

Also you have have a home made TRE fitted on the Pink wire between your ECU and Gear Positioning Senors.

Basically it is a 5.6 K Ohm resister with +/- 5% tollerance valued at 5 pence and some wire and heat string and clips.

It will save you paying £30 odd on a TRE.

Read this for more info.

Also to add 5hp more, get some tank raisers and remove the snorkel from the airbox.

However your SV has 10hp more than my SV, so can't see what your problem is tongue

Unless your chain needs adjusting or you need replacement tyres !!!!

£180 just to set up the power commander thats a rip off bugger me all you have to do is plug it in and alter the maps dead easy. I dont know how much the power commander is but it wont be cheap. So it suddenly gets close to or even over £500.

I had to type that in a hurry last night.

Was doing some work in the garden ready to lay some 60cm x 60cm slabs, which I am doing today

Power Commander for Chiddy's SV is

PC3-324-411SV1000 '05-'07 POWER COMMANDER UNIT £202.56

You can't really plug and play the included maps from the PC on to SV's.

Undo and remove the two screws at the front of the tank.

Place the raisers and then move the rubber pads further down the tank.

Then get the new screws and job done.

In terms of the tyres, depends on you, but the Maxxis tyres certainly did perform very well on the SV, especially in the wet and in the bends.

42 PSI back and 36 front.
